IT House is seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer for a direct placement opportunity with a leading end client in the communications engineering sector, based in Aveiro.
Main Responsibilities
- Build, operate, and continuously improve automated CI/CD pipelines, including repository management, branching strategies, and code quality enforcement;
- Administer Kubernetes clusters and support the applications running on them, ensuring reproducible environments through Infrastructure as Code;
- Plan and optimize resource usage, performance, and operational costs across the container and platform landscape;
- Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to enhance observability across systems and platforms;
- Embed security practices into CI/CD processes (DevSecOps) and manage secrets, certificates, and identities;
- Investigate and resolve infrastructure, deployment, and runtime issues, and lead root cause analysis following incidents.
Requirements
- Strong methodological understanding of software development or DevOps practices, supported by a relevant degree, training, or hands-on IT experience;
- Experience with Kubernetes-based platforms (e.g., OpenShift or similar);
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab or ArgoCD, or equivalent solutions;
- Knowledge of observability practices and tools (e.g., OpenTelemetry or comparable stacks);
- Willingness and enthusiasm to share knowledge with colleagues;
- Good English skills, required for cross-border collaboration.
