CANDIDATE
The candidate’s main responsibilities will include:
- Lead, supervise, and contribute to the design and development of piping systems in multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM projects (industrial energy, oil & Gas, renewable hydrogen, biogas, and biomethane), assuming technical responsibility from feasibility studies and FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) through to detailed design, construction support, and commissioning.
- Apply advanced knowledge of piping design for severe and non-severe service conditions, in accordance with DVGW, ASME B31.1/B31.3, EN 13480, ISO 15649, and PED 2014/68/EU, ensuring engineering integrity and regulatory compliance throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including feasibility study reports, technical specifications, piping classes, plant layouts, 3D models, P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), line lists, isometric drawings, bills of materials, bidding documents, and cost estimates.
- Develop and coordinate work plans for the piping discipline, track work progress, report to the Project Manager, and monitor material quantities, long-lead items (LLI), and deliverables.
- Lead piping route studies, equipment layout definition, and 3D model development, ensuring that the principles of constructability, operability, and maintainability are considered from the early stages of the project.
- Perform and review piping stress analyses (CAESAR II), flexibility studies, hydraulic calculations, support sizing, and nozzle load assessments, identifying design risks and proposing mitigation measures.
- Represent the piping discipline in multidisciplinary coordination meetings, design reviews, 3D model reviews, and client meetings.
- Participate in and support HAZOP, HAZID, and SIL studies, as well as constructability reviews.
- Ensure the timely execution of projects by managing priorities and the workload of the team under your responsibility.
- Contribute to the development of tools, standards, and methodologies that promote continuous improvement in efficiency and quality.
PROFILE
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Fluid Mechanics, Energy, or Structural Engineering.
- Fluency in English (required).
- At least 5 years of professional experience in industrial piping design.
- Experience in renewable hydrogen, biomethane/biogas projects, or in the design of industrial piping and equipment is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of engineering tools, specifically E3D (PDMS), AutoCAD Plant 3D, and ANSYS (preferred).
- Advanced experience in pipeline stress analysis using CAESAR II (required), in accordance with ASME B31.1/B31.3 and EN 13480 standards.
